VIGNETTED PORTRAIT WITH COPPER TONING
This technique involves photographing a vertical
portrait with a dark background, and using a wide lens opening to blur out
that background. It is then copper toned with a solution to give it an older, antique
look. This was taken across the street from my house.

BLUE TONED SCENE
This involves finding a scene that would look
good in a blue color, including water and snow scenes. The photograph is
printed darker than normal and then washed in a blue toner. It was taken at Coyote
Hills near the Dumbarton Bridge.

SPECIAL SHOOTING TECHNIQUE: CITYSCAPE
This technique involves finding an appealing and
interesting angle of a cityscape and using the landmarks as a frame for
the picture. This photograph was taken from the top of Coit Tower in San
Francisco. |

COMBINATION PRINT
Combination printing is done by combining more
than one negative on the same piece of printing paper by printing two
different negatives on the same paper before developing the picture. This
was a cloud scene, combined with a cityscape of San Francisco.

PHOTOGRAM
Instead of printing a picture with a negative,
this is done by using small objects with interesting shapes and placing
them directly on the printing paper and then developing the picture.

SABATTIER
This technique involves taking a photograph of a
highly detailed scene, like a tree with a lot of branches. The printing
paper is exposed to the negative, developed partially and then wiped and
zapped with normal light. This creates a reversal of the image colors,
with black and silver colors. This was taken at Coyote Hills.

HAND-COLORED PRINT
This involves photographing an image that would
look good in tints of color. The photograph is printed lighter than
normal. Then, oils of different colors are rubbed into the picture using
cotton balls.
